Fall Health & Wellness
Dear Scholars, Parents, and Guardians,
As we welcome the arrival of fall, we will be experiencing cooler temperatures, changing weather, and the start of cold and flu season. This time of year is a great reminder for all of us—students, teachers, and families—to take extra steps to protect our health and keep our school community well.
🌤️ Dress for the Changing Weather
Fall weather can change quickly. Please make sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the temperature and has an extra layer when needed. A light jacket or sweater can be especially helpful on cooler mornings.
🥗 Support a Healthy Immune System
Good health begins with everyday habits. Encourage your child to:
- Eat a balanced variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and protein.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
- Get adequate sleep each night.
- Stay physically active.
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their elbow.
- Avoid sharing food, drinks, or personal items.
Some families also choose to use vitamins or supplements as part of their wellness routine. Children have different nutritional needs, so please talk with your child’s pediatrician or healthcare provider before starting a new vitamin or supplement. A balanced diet is an important foundation for children’s nutrition.
🧼 Help Us Prevent the Spread of Illness
Please keep your child home when they are sick, particularly if they have a fever or are experiencing symptoms that make it difficult for them to participate comfortably in the school day. Allowing children time to rest and recover helps them get well and helps protect classmates and staff.
Our teachers and staff are also taking steps to stay healthy during the changing seasons. Together, we can help create a healthy environment for everyone.
❤️ A Healthy Fall Starts With Us
Thank you for partnering with our school to support the health and well-being of our students. Small, consistent habits—healthy meals, good sleep, handwashing, hydration, and staying home when sick—can make a meaningful difference.
Wishing all of our students and families a happy, healthy, and wonderful fall season!
