Lunch Time Birthday Policies

Rhodes School for the Performing Arts has an open door policy regarding birthday parties and we welcome the opportunity to help you celebrate our students’ special day. To avoid disruption to the instructional program, Birthday celebrations are held during the lunch period and not during class time. Due to federal guidelines, parents may only bring dessert. Due to state health guidelines and liability issues associated with outside food being served to students, parents of other students in the class must give permission for their child to participate.

TO SCHEDULE YOUR CHILD’S LUNCHTIME BIRTHDAY PARTY:

1. Complete the form below at least 10 days prior to the date of the party.

2. Prepare an invitation that includes an RSVP for EACH child in the classroom. The RSVP will serve as permission to participate in the celebration and enjoy any refreshments the parents bring in.

3. The approved Birthday Party will only last 15 minutes of the lunch period. Please arrive on time.

4. Cupcakes are recommended. They are easier to serve.

**If you do not have your birthday lunch party pre-approved, you will not be allowed to have your child’s celebration at RSPA.

Rhodes School for the Performing conducts

Student Led Conferences (SLEDS) are a way for student’s to display their schoolwork as well as discuss their learning, educational goals, and strategies to meet these goals. In lieu of parent-teacher conferences, these conferences are continuations of classroom conversations. They focus on the learning that takes place between the teacher and the student throughout the year.

  • STUDENTS actually show parents what they know and are learning in school.
  • Parents are exposed to materials and activities that students engage in during the school day.
  • Teachers can observe interactions, comment, offer suggestions, and model strategies.
  • Students, parents, and the teacher are all active participants in the conference. Crew!
